Royal Caribbean Drink Packages – What You Need to Know

One of the most common questions I get after someone books a cruise is:

“Should I get the drink package?”

Let’s break it down simply so you can decide what’s best for you.

The 3 Main Drink Packages

1. Deluxe
2.
3.

Royal Caribbean offers three main drink package options, and each one fits a different type of traveler.

Deluxe Beverage Package (Alcohol Included)

This is the all-inclusive drink package.

It includes:

  • Cocktails, wine, beer, and spirits
  • Soda
  • Specialty coffee and tea
  • Bottled water
  • Fresh juices and mocktails

2026 Price Range:

  • Typically about $60–$120 per person, per day (based on length of cruise)
  • Most people see pricing around $70–$100 per day depending on the sailing

Good for you if:

  • You plan to have multiple drinks throughout the day
  • You enjoy coffee, bottled water, and cocktails
  • You want everything prepaid and stress-free

Refreshment Package (Non-Alcoholic)

This is the non-alcoholic version of the deluxe package.

It includes:

  • Specialty coffee and tea
  • Bottled water
  • Fresh-squeezed juice
  • Mocktails and smoothies
  • Soda

2026 Price Range:

  • About $30–$45 per person, per day

Good for you if:

  • You don’t drink alcohol
  • You love coffee, smoothies, or staying hydrated
  • You still want that all-included feel

Classic Soda Package

This is the most basic and budget-friendly option.

It includes:

  • Unlimited soda
  • Coca-Cola Freestyle machines
  • Souvenir refill cup

2026 Price Range:

  • About $10–$18 per person, per day

Good for you if:

  • You just want soda
  • You’re keeping things simple and budget-friendly

Important Rule Most People Don’t Know

This is a big one and something I always make sure my clients understand.

If one adult in the room purchases the Deluxe Beverage Package:

  • All adults in the same cabin are required to purchase it
  • Drink packages cannot be shared

If someone in the room does not drink alcohol:

  • Royal Caribbean may require them to purchase the Refreshment Package instead

This policy is in place to prevent sharing, and it’s important to know before you decide.

Is It Worth It?

Here’s the simplest way to think about it:

  • Deluxe Package → worth it if you’ll have about 5–7 drinks per day
  • Refreshment Package → worth it if you’ll have several specialty drinks daily
  • Soda Package → worth it if you drink soda throughout the day

Also keep in mind:

  • Prices can fluctuate and often go on sale
  • Buying before your cruise is usually cheaper than onboard

My Honest Advice

If you like the idea of:

  • Not thinking about prices
  • Ordering what you want when you want it
  • Feeling completely taken care of

Then a drink package can absolutely be worth it.

If you’re more of a one or two drinks a day person, it may make more sense to pay as you go.
